The painter Sulaiman Ali, born in Damascus (Syria) in 1957, was a famous painter in his country with many exhibitions to his name. His work is abstract, but like many good painters, Ali started with realism. During the war, the neighborhood and his house with a studio in Damascus were bombed and he lost his works. Many of the paintings in this book's first part have been destroyed. Since 2017. Sulaiman Ali has lived with his wife, Aida, in Hengelo (The Netherlands). After a period in which painting was impossible, he found a studio and his painting rhythm again.
